Text-only mockups of TGP covers.
The first two are (pretty much) written, so their titles aren’t changing. Book 3’s title probably won’t change, either, since it’s a bit of a plot point.
But Book 4 is only an outline at the moment, so there’s 50/50 odds it may change once I set in writing it for real. Especially since I’m not 100% sure how Book 3 will end (as of this post).
The title text and “Book ##” lines are in Cinzel; the author name and series title are in Caudex.
Book I: The Ghost’s Crusade
The original cover for this when I was posting it on Wattpad had some generic ghostly forest thing I found with a Creative Commons license.
Not particularly fond of it anymore.
Probably going to invent some symbols to represent the main characters and fancy them up for each cover.
Book I is “Drystan’s” book. Mostly. 😛
Book II: Shadowmaker
Book II is Akkali’s book. Mostly.
So, either a symbol representing her, or just a straight up vector of Imbrusil.
Book III: The Warden’s Geas
Book III is Tiernan’s book. Again, mostly.
I have a sketch of him somewhere from years ago I should dig out of whatever box I stuck it in when we turned the basement room into an office… hmm…
Book IV: Wellwalker
Book IV is Arathron’s book… sort of. It’s where I planned to end the series, though it depends on how Book III evolves and how many dangling plot threads I catch on the next full-series pass.
I’m not the biggest fan of characters on covers, at least when the characters have distinguishable faces. I prefer simple symbols or silhouettes.
We’ll see how the trend winds blow. 😛
